Greer, SC Plumber Service Areas: The Towns and Neighborhoods We Serve
Greer sits on the line between Greenville and Spartanburg counties, so a plumbing job a few miles apart can fall under a different permit office and a different utility. This page lists every place we have a page for and shows where each one sits.
Places we serve around Greer
Every place below links to a page that explains who handles water, sewer and permits there and which plumbing problems come up most. The pins on the map use real coordinates for each place, and every pin is also a link in the list.

Why county lines matter for a plumbing job
The City of Greer straddles two counties. Census figures cited by Wikipedia put about 25,600 residents in Greenville County and about 9,700 in Spartanburg County. That split decides who issues a permit, who inspects it and which office you call when a contractor says one is needed.
The towns to the east, Duncan, Lyman and Wellford, sit in Spartanburg County. Taylors, Wade Hampton and Five Forks lie west and south in Greenville County. The four neighborhoods in the first list are inside Greer, though a given lot may be on either side of the city limit, so confirm yours before you assume.
Landmarks help place an address on a call. The BMW Manufacturing plant sits at 1400 Highway 101 South in Greer and Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is nearby. Pelham Mill Park, with its dog park, is at 2770 East Phillips Road near the Highway 14 and Interstate 85 interchange, and Greer City Park is downtown. Name the nearest one if you are unsure how to describe where you are, but the street address and ZIP code are what the dispatcher works from.
Utility and permit contacts for each place we serve
The table lists only what we could confirm from the utility, county or town page named in the last column. Where a page does not say, the cell says so rather than guess. Call the number listed before you pay for a repair that needs a permit or a utility decision.
| Place | What the source says | Who to call |
|---|---|---|
| Greer (city) | Greer CPW supplies water and sewer; the City permits replacement water heaters | Greer CPW (864) 848-5500; City of Greer permits (864) 848-2175 |
| Taylors | Greenville County permits; Taylors Fire and Sewer District is the sewer provider | District (864) 244-5596 |
| Wade Hampton | Greenville County permits; Wade Hampton Fire and Sewer District is the sewer provider | District (864) 244-1861 |
| Duncan | Spartanburg County; the town page does not name a permit office | Town Hall (864) 439-2664 |
| Lyman | All permitting goes through CC&I since September 2021 | CC&I (864) 586-6111 |
| Wellford | Spartanburg County; we did not find a published permit authority | Ask the town and the county |
| Five Forks | Greenville County; the county list names no water provider | Check your water bill |

Neighborhood pages inside Greer and town pages with own permits
The neighborhood pages cover homes inside Greer, where the questions are about the age of the house and the City's permit rules. Sugar Creek and Silverleaf are established neighborhoods with aging valves and heaters. O'Neal Village is newer, so the first question there is the builder warranty. Thornblade has larger homes with longer pipe runs.
The town pages cover places with their own permit offices and utilities. In Taylors and Wade Hampton the first call is often the fire and sewer district. In Lyman it is CC&I. In Duncan, Wellford and Five Forks the pages say plainly what we could not find, because a guess about who owns a sewer line costs real money.
What happens when you call
- Give the street address and ZIP code so the dispatcher can place you.
- Describe what is happening, including whether water is running or sewage is backing up.
- Hear what happens next for that address.
- Get told what to check or shut off while you wait.
- Ask which office your job needs a permit from before work begins.
If you are already in a hurry, the fastest first step is the main shutoff. Burst pipe first response walks through it, and the same steps apply anywhere on this page.
Dispatch decides each call by address, not by the page you read. A place can have a page here because people there search for a plumber, and the address you give on the call is what the dispatcher works from. That is why the call comes first and why we never promise an arrival time on a web page.
Service area questions
Do you serve every place on this page?
We have a page for each place listed, but the ZIP codes we dispatch to are the three shown. Call with your ZIP and the dispatcher will confirm your address.
Why are there two counties involved?
Greer spans Greenville and Spartanburg counties, and the towns around it fall on both sides. The county decides which office issues a plumbing permit.
Which neighborhoods are inside Greer?
Sugar Creek, Silverleaf, O'Neal Village and Thornblade. Confirm with the City whether your own lot is inside city limits.
Is the map exact?
No. It is schematic and positions are approximate. Use it to see how places relate, and call for an answer about a specific address.
